François Griaud (EC 2010-2011, PhD student in Medicine at The University of Manchester and Fellow of the British Society for Proteome Research) presented his work on Leukaemia Proteomics at the 10th anniversary conference of the Human Proteome Organisation (HUPO) held in Geneva, Switzerland (September 3-7). This international conference focused on the translation of experimental discoveries made with Proteomics, i.e. the study of all proteins (Proteome), to the clinic. By enabling the discovery of aberrant regulations (biomarkers) in cancer, neurodegenerative as well as cardiovascular diseases, Proteomics is expected to have a major impact in Medicine from the conception of new therapeutic approaches to early diagnosis of diseases and better therapy management for each patient (photo credits: Florent Gluckcapturedbyflo.com).
